Jayalalitha handed over 170 new108 Emergency Ambulance Services, 76 Mortuary Vans and 348 new vehicles for the use of Primary Health Centres

Date: september 11, 2012 108 Ambulance service have been introduced and servicing by the state government of Tamilnadu. Now 434 ambulance vehicles are providing services in the 32 districts of Tamilnadu. Jayalalitha handed over 70 ambulance services in to usage of people from the cost of Rs. 17.46 crores. Patients who lost their lives in the government hospitals would be shifted to their houses by mortuary vans. Totally 62 free mortuary vans are servicing in the state. Now jayalalitha handed over 76 mortuary vans from the cost of Rs. 7.76 crores. Jayalalitha ordered to increase the number of vehicles in the hospitals. Jayalalitha introduced the scheme of giving free bicycles to the girls of Adi dravidar and tribal students who studied in higher secondary schools in the year 2001-2002 for the improvement of the standard of girls in the society. After the year 2005-2006, Jayalalitha extended this scheme to all the boys and girls of the higher secondary schools. Date: August 20, 2012 Jayalalitha noticed a worrisome incident of attack and harassment of innocent Tamilnadu fishermen by the srilankan navy on August 18, 2012. Fire dice glass reinforced plastic boats belonging to vellapullam and vanavanmadevi fishing villages in vedaranyam taluk at Nagapattinam district of Tamilnadu ventured into the sea for fishing on August 17 and 18, 2012 with 18 fishermen on board. Jayalalitha announces New health insurance for Agriculturalists and Cancer speciality block in Chennai Royapettah Government Hospital

Date: August 16, 2012 Honble Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha started a Elobrated Medical Insurance scheme on January 11, 2012. From this scheme, every poor family would be benefited a lakh rupees per year for 4 years and for special treatment upto 1.5 lakh of rupees to be allowed. Now jayalalitha extended this scheme to farmers and agricultural labours. Jayalalitha ordered to improvising the cancer treatment in Tamilnadu. For this, jayalalitha sanctioned Rs. 2.61 crore to buy the cobalt insurments for modern cancer treatment to Thanjavur, Coimbatore and Thirunelveli goverment hospitals. Cancer treatment section has been established during the year 1978 at the Chennai Royapettah hospital. Jayalalitha ordered to construct a new building for this section from the cost of 17 crore and it will be finished very soon.
