Date: August 23, 2012 Chief Minister of Tamilnadu J.Jayalalitha conducted a review meeting on the new power projects envisaged to avoid the power shortage prevailing in the state. In this meeting, Jayalalitha asked the level of completion of the Thermal power plants at vellore(500MW), Mettur(600MW) and North chennai(600MW). Jayalalitha urges the officials to finishes these projects as soon as possible. In this meeting, Finance minister of Tamilnadu O. Paneerselvam, Minister for Electricity Mr. Natham Visvanathan and officials were participated in this meeting. Jayalalitha concluded that this projects will minimise the power shortage in the Tamilnadu.

Date: August 17, 2012 Emu farms company had been established and collected the lakhs of rupees from 36000 investors from Erode and Coimbatore districts. Also they cheated by their advertisements. And they promised to repaid the deposits after a year, but they failed to repay. Totally Tamilnadu Police got 16 complaints against this case. Police pointed 33 of them to be named as accust. Still now, 4 of them were arrested from this. On this day, jayalalitha chaired a meeting on the action against the Emu farms cheating. Jayalalitha ordered to take necessary steps against this case during this meeting. Also jayalalitha suggested to police to capture the properties of Emu farms owners and to be settled to innocent investors. Also jayalalitha ordered to Animal husbandry department to protect the Emu hen which are all in these farms.

Date: August 11, 2012 According to the order of chennai high court Madurai branch about Kavery and Kollidum sand quarries, Jayalalitha chaired a meeting on availability of sand at chennai secretariat building in Tamilnadu. Finance minister O.Paneerselvam, Electricity minister Natham Visvanathan and others were attended this meeting. After this meeting, jayalalitha published the press statement. 1."All departments and every district collectors of Tamilnadu should confirm the availability of sand without any delay on construction works. 2.To reduce Unavailability of sand, take steps to form new quarry and get the clearance certificate from the state Enthronement impact assessment authority. 3. District collectors should take required steps to stop the illegal mining of sand and confirm the availability of sand.
