Tamilnadu Chief Minister Ms. J.Jayalalitha's independence day speech at secretariat on August 15, 2012
Ms. J.Jayalalitha expressed her happiness of 12th time hosting the flag in her political career at secretariat.
She remembered the histories of activists Seval poolithevan, Veera pandiya kattabomman, Thirupur kumaran, Maruthu brothers, Gigantic lady Velunatchiyar, Freedom fighters Thillaiyadi Valliyammal, Va. Vu. Chidambaranar, Great poet Bharathi, Pasumpon Muthuramalinga devar, Sathiyamoorthy, Subramaniya siva, Sinna malai, Alazhu Muthukon, Kamarajar and Thanthai Periyar whom fought for freedom of India against British.
Anna's quote " Show our god on smile of poor". According to this quote, My government creating and establishing the welfare measures for economically weaker section people. Also goverment's law, scheme and order should for people's development. This government not only striving for No.1 spot and also aiming to achieve ultra development like middie spot countries, Ms. Jayalalitha said.
Tamilnadu should record 11% and more economic growth, Jayalalitha added.
So Government projected Tamilnadu vision 2023 to get 20% extra growth over the India's expected growth within 10 years.
"I have been completed 15 month as Chief Minister.", Jayalalitha said.
Also she pointed the schemes, orders, actions and others which were completed in these 15 months.
About Agricultural department:
Farmers in the state were cultivated historic successful record of 106 metric ton of food grains on the period of 2011-2012 which is higher than the last year(76 metric tons). Karnataka government's decision not to release Cauvery river water decreased the short term paddy cultivation. Government has been giving 12 hours continuous 3 phase supply to farmers. Due to these steps, 1.37 lakh acres of lands have been irrigated by water pumps.
About Education department:
Education is the basic thing to develop human resources. So the government have been giving cash incentives to 10th, 11th and 12th students, four free uniforms, slippers, School bag, color pencils, geometry box, world map, books and note books. Jayalalitha has been giving laptops to higher secondary and college students, Bicyles to higher secondary and ITI students. Also she sanctioned for new engineering colleges at Theni district podinayakanur, Dharmapuri district settikarai and Thanjore district sengipatti. Jayalalitha ordered to improvise the infracture of 22 Arts and Science colleges at various places of Tamilnadu from the cost of Rs.100 crore.
Schemes for rural development:
Jayalalitha confirmed the lives of economically weaker persons by assuring 4 lakh rupees per lakh an year for health from Elaborated Medical insurance scheme. Jayalalitha has been giving sanitary napkins to village young girls. Also she has been giving Rs. 12000 to village economically backward pregnancy women from Dr. Muthulakshmi retty pregnancy welfare scheme. Jayalalitha secured the diseaseless society by giving modern hospitalisation at villages and the 24 hrs pregnancy wards in hospitals.
About Industrial growth:
5 new industries will be created and 9530 vacancies will be filled by Rs. 5700 crore and 20000 indirect vacancies also be filled, Jayalalitha said. In these 15 months, jayalalitha appointed 1,70,000 employees of government. Here 24,952 vacancies have been filled from Tamilnadu Government labours association, 17,540 vacancies from Employment exchange, 59,189 vacancies from from teaching and non teaching field of schools, 1,432 vacancies from colleges, 13,376 vacancies from second grade police officials, 205 sub inspectors, 2,874 vacancies from medical, 16,793 vacancies as cooks, cooks assistant and other, 11,803 vacancies from primary schools, 4,672 from Tamilnadu Electricity Board TNEB and 16,963 from TN Transport corporation.
About Welfare Schemes:
1. Free rice to ration card holders of Tamilnadu.
2. Gold and cash to poor educated girls for their marriage.
3. Farmers protection scheme
4. Free mixie, grinder and Electric fans to Ration card holders.[35 lakh card holders would be distributed from Rs. 25 lakh in this current fiscal]
17000 cows and 6.80 lakh goats would be distributed free to the needy during the current fiscal.
5. 60,000 houses would be constructed from Rs. 1.80 lakh each with 300 sq.ft and solar electric facility during this fiscal. And also 1 lakh houses would be constructed to Thane storm affected peoples.
6. Thai(Mother) scheme[25,335 rural villages would be choosed from 220 village panchayats. Rs. 680 crore alloted to this scheme.]
Jayalalitha increased the pension amount of freedom fighters from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7000 and their medical allowances prices also increased from Rs. 100 to Rs. 500. Pension amount for the families of late freedom fighters also increased from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3500.
Jayalalitha would be urged the Central government to take effective measures to protect the tamil community in srilanka.
Later, Jayalalitha distributed the Kalpana chawla award for bravery to two women. She distributed sweets to diffedrently abled children.
